VENUES & CATERING HALLS Some parents may wish, through lack of space or time to hold the party away from their home. Then you have many choices. Village, and church halls are a good places to hold birthday parties, but be sure to enquire and make your booking early, as cub and brownie groups, jumble sales, etc., also use these hall on a regular basis. In addition to these, some schools let out their hall at a quite inexpensive rate. A common mistake in large halls with plenty of space, is to invite twice as many children as you normally would. Remember twice as many children, will require twice as many helpers. BEING CATERED FOR (to top) If you find yourself too busy to prepare the catering, many restaurants offer interesting party packages. A few of the restaurants even have a rooms especially for such events. This leaves you, with only the games to provide. BURGER BARS AND FAST FOOD RESTAURANTS (to top) These are a popular choice for a work free party, although they are sometimes restricted in space when trying to play games. From experience some of these burger bars, will not allow you to bring in an outside entertainer, preferring to offer you there own. So if you decide upon a restaurant, and also wish to have a magician, clown, etc. First check to see if they have any objection, also find out if your magician plans to produce any live animals, as these may well contravene the restaurants hygiene laws. Another problem with
holding the party in a restaurant, and also booking an entertainer
to perform, is that any other children will obviously come and both
watch and join in. |
